Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016

Germany will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden. The German entry will be selected by a yet to be determined method, organised by German broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) which is a part of ARD.
== Background ==
(詳細はtitle=Germany Country Profile )〕 Germany has won the contest on two occasions: in 1982 with the song "Ein bißchen Frieden" performed by Nicole and in 2010 with the song "Satellite" performed by Lena. Germany, to this point, has been noted for having competed in the contest more than any other country; they have competed in every contest since the first edition in 1956 except for the 1996 contest when the nation was eliminated in a pre-contest elimination round.
NDR confirmed that Germany would participate in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest on 27 May 2015. On 19 November 2015, NDR revealed that they had internally selected Xavier Naidoo to represent Germany at the contest. However, it was later revealed that the singer would not represent the country, due to the heavy requests from people who believe that Xavier is "a racist or a homophobe".
